What is Laser Therapy?

Laser Therapy (also known as Low-Intensity Laser Therapy (LILT), Photobiostimulation, Cold Laser) is a light-based technology proven to be highly effective in the treatment of musculoskeletal problems, sports and soft tissue injuries, spinal conditions, arthritis and scar and wound healing.

The technology is non-invasive, non-toxic, painless and is currently utilized in many countries world-wide.

This system utilize scientifically developed and clinically tested protocols that maximize the effectiveness of treatment to reduce inflammation, stimulate the body’s immune system, and facilitate the natural healing process to reduce symptoms associated with medical problems, particularly pain. It is FDA and Health Canada approved, and designed and manufactured in Canada.

At Pao Family Wellness, we use the BioFlex® Duo + Treatment Array, which is a large surface array integrating superluminous diodes, unique in design. It features both Red and Infrared light sources in a single diode and permits sequential application. This is the perfect ally to work in combination with acupuncture, as we can treat a wide area while we address internal imbalances. The BioFlex® DUO+ Arrays are flexible and contour to the anatomical configurations of the patient’s treatment area. This ensures optimal energy delivery. Direct contact with the epidermis is paramount in the process of effective Laser Therapy.
